The Last Son of the Miracle is none other than the final boss of Blasphemous, and you’ll fight him right after defeating the previous boss: His Holiness Escribar. In fact, you’ll always have to beat one and then the other right after, with no break at all.
Difficulty-wise, he’s not that bad for a final boss. He’s not exactly easy, but I don’t think he’s anywhere near the level of the fight against Crisanta of the Wrapped Agony.
Anyway, since you have to beat His Holiness Escribar first no matter what, let’s start with his guide.

How to Beat His Holiness Escribar
His Holiness Escribar is a pretty easy boss, but you’ll want to have him well under control so you can face the Last Son of the Miracle in the best possible shape. Ideally, you shouldn’t use a single Bile Flask.
His attacks are the following:
- Quen: A shield that protects His Holiness Escribar from your attacks, and while he’s protected he’ll take the chance to throw magic attacks at you. Don’t attack him while it’s active.
- Toxic Magic: Sometimes he’ll use an attack where a sort of green balls keep raining down. The good thing is that if you hit them while facing the boss, they’ll get knocked back toward him and deal a bit of damage, similar to what happens with Our Lady of the Charred Visage.
- Fire Magic: He throws a series of fireballs that home in on you. They’re easy to dodge by moving, or with the dash if things get tight, but it’s a pretty long attack. There’s one good thing about it: this time the boss loses his shield very quickly, so you can hit him while dodging the fireballs.
- Electric Magic: Lightning bolts appear randomly around the room and, as usual by now, you can see where they’ll land with a bit of time to get out of the way.
- Violet Magic: This is the trickiest one: he fires violet beams in a series, alternating low and high. You’ll need to jump and duck with good timing to dodge it.
Luckily, His Holiness Escribar has very little health; you’ll see your attacks take huge chunks off it. When he teleports, he always reappears on the other side of the screen, so you can move over to get there faster. The “Sacred Onslaught” Mea Culpa skill also comes in really handy.
By the way, there’s a little trick to hit the boss before the fight starts, even though he’s not technically there yet. You need to perform Sacred Onslaught a little before the spot where the boss’s dialogue starts (right after the last column). It’s funny, because this makes him show up during the first lines of dialogue, where he’s not supposed to appear.
How to Beat the Last Son of the Miracle
And now comes the good part. Things get quite a bit harder with this one, but don’t worry, it’s not as hard as it might seem.
To be able to damage him, you’ll first need to hit the Flying Sword in the eye three times (at least at Mea Culpa level 6). Once you do, his face will be uncovered and you can hit him for a limited time until the Sword comes back, and so on…
The bad part is that hitting him gets a bit tedious, since you need to reach his face, the floating platforms appear and disappear, and on top of that the boss keeps attacking you. So my advice is to always prioritize your health, because you’re going to need it; slow and steady wins the race here. I also highly recommend the Prayer that summons lightning, since even if you cast it from the ground you’ll deal a decent amount of damage, but save your Fervour for when he’s at 50% health or less.
Let’s go over his attacks:
- Sword Attacks: Every now and then the Sword will swing at you and also summon lots of lightning columns. It’s really annoying, and on top of that you can’t attack the Last Son of the Miracle while it’s active, so it should be your priority. The ideal is to pretty much destroy it as soon as it shows up and every time it comes back.
- Electric Magic: The usual, but you really want to avoid getting hit by any of the lightning bolts, because if you get hit by one, you’ll most likely get hit by all the following ones too. It’s very frustrating. Be very careful to always dodge the lightning.
- Violet Pillars: More or less the same attack the Tres Angustias used. You have time to dodge it, and once you do, you’ll have time to heal or throw some lightning at the boss.
- Violet Beams: Beams the boss fires from both top corners of the screen. They don’t do a ton of damage and should be easy to dodge, but for some reason I got hit by them almost every time.
- Toxic Magic: The same green balls as with His Holiness Escribar, only a lot more of them. Luckily, the columns on the floor block them, but they’ll still be a bit of a nuisance when you try to damage him.
- Fire Magic: Without a doubt the worst attack, and he only uses it from around 50% health onward, which is why you should save your Fervour. He throws a ton of fireballs, I mean a ton; it’s almost impossible not to get hit by at least one of them, and watch out, they hurt a lot.
Recommended Items
What works best here are items that give you magic and elemental resistance, since that’s the main type of damage this boss deals.
I especially recommend magic resistance (since it covers two attacks) and, above all, fire resistance, since after all it’s his worst attack and the one most likely to hit you.
The End of Blasphemous?
That’s right, this is the final boss, so by beating him you’ve finished the game. However, the first time around you’ll most likely unlock the bad ending (or at least that’s what happened to me), and let me tell you, the name fits it perfectly, because it’s really bad.
Anyway, I’ll soon write a guide to unlock the good ending (Done!), which will surely be much more worth it. By the way, beating the game unlocks a new, pretty cool look for your character (you’ll find it under Extras in the main menu, outside the game).
And that’s it! Have you seen the game’s bad ending yet? Did you have a hard time beating the Last Son of the Miracle in Blasphemous? Leave a comment!
